Women of Zion wrap up busy 2015
The Women of Zion are thankful for all of God’s blessings. We share our blessing in missions; a Prayer Shawl is given to any individual that is experiencing health concerns; Pillow Case Dresses are made from pillowcases and shipped to 33 different places in the world; Do-Days makes Quilts that are taken to Lutheran World Relief, Bremwood Lutheran Home, Baby Quilts for each baptism and for the Home and Health Closet; Piecemakers make quilts that are hand quilted and taken to EWALU for their annual auction. Proceeds from this auction are given to EWALU for their camp program; Pillowcases for Sunnycrest residents were given as a Christmas gift to each resident this year.
Other missions are: sponsoring Relay for Life; maintaining a prayer chain for requested prayers; cards sent to shut ins; the Home and Health Closet that provides cleaning and personal hygiene products to anyone in need; Christmas gifts for families in need; Memorial Day Dinner with the proceeds going to a charity; Ice Cream Social were the proceeds go to members who are attending a Lutheran College; and a Basket Auction that enables us to send $2000 to various Charites.
