Union recognizes top students in math competition

Recently Union competed in the nationwide math competition called MATHCOUNTS. The top 10 6th graders were: Gabriel Jesse, Alexa Weber, Mae Deaton, Josie Werner, Tristen Prouse, Corey Smith, Gracie Rathe, Daniel Petersen, Carlie Spore, Josh Bechthold, Connor Wyant, and Alana Higgins. The top 10 7th graders were: Kylea Neuendorf, Belle Weber, Jacob Hill, Danny Caruso-Winslow, Sterling Mullen, Grace Johnson, Sophie Winkelpleck, Eden Hansen, Marcus Albertsen, Madelon Rathe, Audrey Kline, and Cade Shepard. The top 10 8th graders were: Rachel Hellman, Logan Brown, Carlie Hoppe, Natalie Tecklenburg, Emma Sebetka, Jon Bronner, Emma Carlson, Aubrey Schmidt, Maddy Bonner, and Noah Damro.
The top 15 students overall in order were: Logan Brown, Gabriel Jesse, Rachel Hellman, Carlie Hoppe, Emma Sebetka, Natalie Tecklenburg, Kylea Neuendorf, Alexa Weber, Aubrey Schmidt, Jonathan Bronner, Emma Carlson, Jacob Hill, Mae Deaton, Josie Werner, and Belle Weber. These 15 students and Maddy Bonner, Noah Damro, Danny Caruso-Winslow, Sterling Mullen, and Marcus Albertsen went on to represent Union at the annual Chapter MATHCOUNTS competition at Hawkeye Community College on Friday, February 12th.
