Union FPS teams at state competition

Two Union High School teams and two UHS individuals competed in the state Future Problem Solving (FPS) competition held on April 15 + 16 in Ames. The topic for the contest was “The Global Workplace.” Teams of four students and individual students have two hours to use the six steps of problem solving to complete a 12-page written packet on the topic. Teams also perform a skit based on the packet.

The 9th grade teams were: Kody Crawford, Olivia Sash, Zeke Seuser, and Hunter Stwalley (Alanna Hines alternate); and Emma Alpers, Megan Carty, Tori Hadachek, Anna Smith (Jenna Steinlage alternate).

Individuals were: Madison DeWitt (9th grade) and Keiara Faiferlick (12th grade)

Madison DeWitt and Keiara Faiferlick both placed second at the contest. First place teams and individuals in Iowa will go on to complete at the international contest in June at the University of Michigan.
