The Union High School music department under the direction of Tim J. Mitchell and Michael Bistline will present their final concert of the year for the Concert Choir and Concert Band on Tuesday, May 3 at 7:30pm in the Union High School Auditorium in La Porte City, Iowa. Featured will be the Concert Choir, Men’s Choir, Women’s Choir and Concert Band performing their literature that they will be entering in State Competition on Friday May 6th.

Then on Friday May 6th, Union High School will host 32 performing groups from all over east central Iowa at the 3A State Large Group Music Contest. 22 choirs and 10 bands will be performing starting at 4pm in the gym for the choirs and 4:30pm in the Auditorium for the bands. The groups will run until about 9:45pm that evening. The event is open to the public.
