Fall tree planting at Dysart City Park

Over sixty family members and Dysart Tree Board members met in the Dysart city Park on Friday, October 21st, to plant trees. Most of the trees were planted in the vicinity of the new pavilion-gazebo in the southwest section of the park. The new trees planted there will complement the landscape work done earlier in the season in the area by the Dysart Tree Board and the Dysart Park board, and they will provide added variety, beauty, and shade. A few trees were also planted in the vicinity of the playground in the east park of the park. A number of different varieties were planted including: Hot Wings Maple, Butterfly Magnolia, Weeping Mulberry, Weeping White spruce, Katsura, jack Pear, Purple Beech, Ginkgo, Yellowwood, Hackberry, Sterling Silver Linden, Sargent Cherry, and Regal Prince Oak. All of the trees which were planted are memorial trees. Funds to purchase the trees came from John’s Qwik Stop-the Tree Board’s Business Partner, a Trees Forever/Branching Out Alliant Energy Grant, and contributions from friends and relatives of those for whom the memorial trees were planted. Please be sure and take a drive around our beautiful Dysart city Park to see all of the new trees.
