Is there anything more fun than a Dad twirling his daughter(s) on the dance floor? On Friday, February 10th the Dysart-Geneseo P.T.O. (Parent Teacher Organization) sponsored a Daddy Daughter Dance at D-G Elementary. We spent an hour and a half dancing and having fun with our Dads and friends.

Mr. Albertsen, our school principal, was the DJ for the night. He was the best in the house, playing some of the music of our generation such as: “Shake It Off”, “Shut Up and Dance”, “Cha-Cha Slide”, “Whip and Nae Nae”, and many slow songs. Some of the Dads even competed in the Limbo-even my Dad tried it!

Lisa Eikamp from “Simply Blooming” made beautiful corsages. The corsages were white carnations with a light lily color ribbon and a bunch of glitter and bling (which is a girl’s best friend). She donated some of the proceeds to the P.T.O.

The treats were to die for! There were homemade sugar cookies with red sprinkles on top. Also, we had bite-sized Little Debbie heart-shaped treats with marshmallow stuff inside. The chex-mix was yummy and we all wanted seconds.

Erica Youngblut was the photographer. Erica donated her time to make this night special. She had an excellent photo booth that was decorated with gold and silver streamers. It looked like the Dads were having a blast taking pictures with their daughters. The photos turned out great!

Thank you D-G P.T.O for sponsoring this wonderful dance. This was a fun date night for me and my Dad. I hope this is a tradition that continues for many years!
