Opening night for Vietnam War documentary September 17

Everyone is welcome to view the opening night of “The Vietnam War” documentary at the Tama Legion on Sunday, September 17.

The Sons of The American Legion in Tama contacted Iowa Public Television several months ago to host a “public viewing of public television.” This film by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick has been several years in the making where over 25,000 photos were considered for inclusion in this 10-part 18-hour documentary.

The Tama Legion located at 1105 East 5th Street in Tama suggestions that one arrive from the east due to street construction. “Iowans Remember Vietnam” is Iowa Public Television’s 60 minute addition to the evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. The Burns and Novick (87 minute episode #101 “Deja Vu”) presentation begins at 7:00 p.m. and repeats at 8:30 p.m. on IPTV.1.
