Dysart Council enters loan agreement approves 2020-21 city budget

No comments were heard during a public hearing on the 2020 Connell Street Improvement

Project by the Dysart City Council at the regular meeting on Wednesday, March 11.

A resolution to enter into a loan agreement with an amount not to exceed $600,000 was approved by the council on a 5-0 vote to pay for the work.

Council members also approved 5-0 the fiscal year 2020-21 budget totaling $1,960,039 in spending and a total of all expenditures including business type enterprises (city provided services) of $7,225,577.

General spending is down nearly $20,000 in the new budget and but there is a $3 million jump when business type activities are added.

The increase is primarily directed at payment for construction on the city’s lagoon upgrade project according to City Clerk Roxanne Schneider.

In other business the council:

approved Lyric Dutton as a member of the Dysart Ambulance Service and received an update on the new ambulance received on March 6.

approved renewal of the wine license for Custom Creations by Sheri and the beer sales license for John’s Qwik Stop.

approved City Clerk Schneider to attent the International Institute of Municipal Clerks conference in St. Louis at her expense.

approved purchase of a new John Deere model mower at an estimated cost of about $8,000 with trade.

approved a resolution setting a public hearing concerning environmental impact for SRF loan.
