I am going to vote NO on the upcoming North Tama School Bond Issue because…..

It was voted down by the voters last time. The School Board raised the amount and want us (taxpayers) to vote yes for it this time. NO! I wish the board would have considered the taxpayers and trimmed some of the improvements. Why should I pay for something the second time when it was too expensive the first time?

I feel we have far too many issues inside the school that a shiny new building will not cure! Accountability!! School Board not holding the Administration accountable! Administration not holding the teachers, janitors, secretaries and faculty accountable! The teachers not holding the students accountable! I realize there are guidelines to go by. I also feel there is a conflict of interest between administration and teachers.

I’ve looked at the itemized bond issue. Several of the dollars listed will be spent on repairs and maintenance that should (in my opinion) have been kept up through the years. There is no guarantee a new building will be maintained.

I want our school to work as a team for the good of our students and community. I feel there are too many people taking advantage of their jobs/positions and are not being held accountable.

I am voting NO!

Respectfully Submitted,
