North Tama track at South Hardin
Friday, May 1 the North Tama boys ran at the South Hardin Invitational.
In the field events Taylor Kvidera jumped 5’2″ for seventh place, Brendon Boerm jumped 18’2″ in the long jump for sixth place and Brett Steffeny jumped 16’9″ for 12th place. In the shot Alex Herink threw 38’2″ for fifth place and Popelka threw 37’1″ for eighth place. The discus saw Popelka on top for the Redhawks with a throw of 109’8″ and fourth place and Herink in fifth with a throw of 107’7″.
James Weida and David Robinson started the running events for the team in the 1600m run. Weida in fourth place with a time of 5.11.61 and Robinson in fifth place in a time of 5.12.16. Robinson got second place in the 3200m run in a time of 10.57.80 and Tyler Beenken earned the team 13 points with his fourth place finish in the 3200m run in a time of 10.59.97.
Boerm had the teams only first place position in the 100m dash with a time of 11.48 seconds. Aaron Fink also ran the 100m dash finishing in 10th place in a time of 12.2 seconds.
In the 200m dash Boerm was third with a time of 23.88 and Fink seventh with a time of 24.74.
In the 400m dash Jordan Mask had a 11th place finish in a time of 58.25 and Andy Brownell was in 13th in a time of 59.78.
The open 800m run Alex Kubik had a seventh place finish in a time of 2.19.37 and Kvidera had a 10th place finish in a time of 2.22.09.
The shuttle hurdle team of Jeremy Wrage, Weida, Boerm and Josh Youel placed second in 1.03.25.
The 4×100 team of Nick Whannel, Brownell, Youel and Fink finished in fourth place in 48.31 and the 4×200 relay team of Whannel, Andrew Wicks, Steffeny and Fink ran in 1.48.15 for seventh place.
The distance medley relay team of Whannel, Jacobs, Brownell and Sean Dengler had a eighth place finish in a time of 4.27.36.
The team had a total of 285 points earning them second place at the meet. West Marshall won the meet with 417 points.
