Redhawks roll NE Hamilton

The North Tama Redhawks got off to a fast start in their home opener against Northeast Hamilton, overcoming an early deficit en route to 15-5 victory. Jacob Wrage was on the mound for the Redhawks, and settled down after some early control problems allowed the visiting team to capitalize and gain a five-run advantage. Wrage clamped down to pitch three shutout innings to end the game. Wrage also had two hits and an RBI on the offensive side. Defense was an issue for both teams, with wind gusts reaching over 40 miles per hour, contributing to several errors. NE Hamilton finished the contest with eight errors, some of which allowed North Tama runners to advance and add to their lead in the later innings. The Redhawks host Don Bosco Friday at 5 p.m.
