Four NT girls named Iowa Star All-Conference performers

Four athletes from the North Tama volleyball team have been recognized for their outstanding achievements on the court this season.

Allison Zobel and Aryn Isenhower both earned First Team All-Conference South Division honors with their strong play in 2012.

Zobel, who recorded 24 kills in the team’s season-ending loss in regionals – the seventh-best individual performance in Class A this year – was an integral part of the North Tama offensive attack.

Zobel recorded 83 kills on the season, finishing second only to Shannon Stuart, who had 84. Her 606 attack attempts were a team high.

Zobel was a force in the serving game, converting 225 of her 237 serves on the year for a .949 percentage, second only to Isenhower.

Isenhower was a reliable presence at the service line all year long. She had a serving percentage of .939 on 312 serves this season. Isenhower led the Redhawks with 48 aces, a number also recorded by Second Team All-Conference performer Shannon Stuart.

Stuart’s 84 kills were complimented by her 384 attack attempts, second on the team. She also helped out in the serving game with over 200 service attempts.

Honorable Mention from the South Division was awarded to Christy Calderwood. All four girls are seniors and will be sorely missed.
