Boys to close with home date vs. Union

After winning four in a row in mid-January, the North Tama boys looked to be on an upward trend. Unfortunately, the end of the month was far less kind to the Redhawks.

The team’s most recent struggles date back to January 24, when the boys ended up on the wrong end of a 69-52 contest. Taylor Dinsdale led the Redhawks with 20 points and also snagged five rebounds, while leading scorer Paul Kaufmann had 17 points and a team-high 11 rebounds.

Kaufmann scored 29 against Don Bosco on January 28, and another 21 in the January 31 contest against Meskwaki, when ended in a close 64-70 defeat. Dindale also had 20 points in that game, and sophomore Ben Panfil scored 12.

In their contest over the weekend against Gladbrook-Reinbeck, the boys were outscored 103-64 in the out-of-conference contest. Kaufmann had a game-high 28 points, but it wasn’t enough to outmatch the hot-shooting Rebels. Sophomore Logan Zobel had 12 points and Panfil chipped in with eight.

North Tama (6-11 as of Tuesday) visits GMG on Friday, February 7, and South Hardin on Monday, February 10 before finishing off the regular season at home against Union on February 11.
