North Tama graduate and University of Dubuque athlete Allyson Machala has had quite a career during her time at UD.

In addition to placing in the top five in UD history in the outdoor discus, Machala was recently named to the 2015 Academic All-Iowa Conference team.

As a senior, Machala competed in the Spartan Invitational in indoor track, throwing the shot put 25′ 5.5″. She also threw the discus at six meets in outdoor track, setting a personal record at the Iowa Conference Outdoor Championships with a throw of 118′ 1″ in an eighth-place finish. Machala finished second at the Spartan Twilight with a toss of 117′ 11″.

Her indoor track bests were a 30′ 7.5″ shot put throw in 2014, as well as a 33′ 11.5″ weight throw that same year.

In outdoor track, her 118′ 1″ throw was the fifth-farthest in University of Dubuque history, and she also threw the hammer 87′ 3″.
