Lidgett captures conference crown, Redhawk girls second

Iowa Star Conference Meet

The North Tama Redhawks cross country team competed in the Iowa Star Conference Meet on Thursday, October 14 at the Wartburg Max Course in Waverly.

The girls team took second place with 44 points. Collins-Maxwell was the Iowa Star Conference team champion.

North Tama’s Grace Lidgett was the winner of the girls race with a time of 20:12.0 and is now the 2021-2022 All-Conference Champion.

Jules Breakenridge crossed the finish line in third with a time of 21:18.0, while Olivia Ketter crossed in 10th place with a time of 21:26.0. Breakenridge and Ketter also earned All-Conference honors.

Jamie Jacobs finished in 13th place with a time of 22:42.0, Daniela Moraru finished in 31st with a time of 26:07.0, Larissa Morrison finished in 32nd place with a time of 26:09.0, and Rachel Robinson finished in 43rd place with a time of 28:10.0.

In the boys race, North Tama’s Christian Dronebarger finished in 39th with a time of 21:58.0, while Nic Hinrichs finished 59th with a time of 29:35.0.

The Iowa Star team champion was Valley Lutheran with 21 points. The All-Conference Champion was Isaac Natvig of Valley Lutheran who finished with a time of 16:41.0.

This week Thursday (October 21) North Tama will run in the 1A state qualifying meet in Cascade

beginning at 4 p.m.

The 2021 state meet for Class 2A is set for Saturday, October 30 in Fort Dodge.

Jamie Jacobs and Olivia Ketter work through a pack of runners at the Iowa Star Conference Meet last week. Ketter and Jacobs helped their team to a second place finish, finishing 10th and 13th respectively.

Sophomore Christian Dronebarger was the top finisher for the North Tama boys squad at the Iowa Star Conference Meet. Dronebarger finished in 39th place with a time of 29:35.
