Redhawk girls track takes 2nd at Belle Plaine

Lidgett wins 1500

BELLE PLAINE — North Tama girls track and field scored 73 points to finish as runners-up at a Belle Plaine co-ed on Monday night (April 24).

Senior Grace Lidgett won the 1,500-meter run in 5:35.54 and was the anchor leg of the winning distance medley relay team, along with teammates Lainey Willenbring, Kayden Zimmerman and Gabriella Seda clocking in at 4:48.51.

North Tama was also second in the 4X800 relay.

The North Tama boys placed seventh with 23 points.

Kolt Knaack placed third for the Redhawks in the 800-meter run.

The team heads to Grundy Center this afternoon for the Spartan Coed Invite where they’ll face BCLUW, Belle Plaine, GMG, Grundy Center, Montezuma, Oelwein, and Waverly-Shell Rock.

On Monday, the team is set to compete in the Meskwaki Dream Builders Coed Invitational, followed by the Iowa Star Conference meet also at Meskwaki on Thursday.
