SPORTS SHORT: Redhawk girls golf claims 4th at South Hardin

UNION – Lindsay Beeghly shot a 9-over par 79 for individual medalist honors as BCLUW girls golf ran away with the hardware at the home Comet Invite at South Hardin Recreation Area on Monday afternoon.

The Comets finished with a 382 team score to claim the team title, well ahead of South Hardin in 2nd with 444. Beeghly’s teammate Brooklynn Backoff claimed runner-up medalist with an 89.

Sydney Anderson was fourth overall with a 98 and Leah McEwen shot 116 to round out the Comets’ scoring four.

North Tama won a tiebreaker with Union to claim fourth with a 472 team score. Kensington Pick and Kylie Calderwood shot 111 and 112 to finish seventh and eighth as individuals, respectively.

Mariah Wood shot a 114 to lead GMG to a sixth-place team finish with 510 team strokes.

East Marshall was seventh in the standings with a 531. Delaney Ryan paced the Mustangs with a 123.
