Knights girls 2-4 on season, Sorensen breaks 3-point record

Heading into this week, the Union Knights girls basketball team was 2-4 (0-2) on the season after notching two wins in a row on Nov. 27 and 28 against Central City and Independence, respectively.

Team leaders thus far this season include seniors Reagan Sorensen with 93 points (19 3-pointers) and 19 assists and Ava Mills with 83 points (nine 3-pointers) and 13 assists.

Mills also leads the defense with 41 total rebounds followed by sophomore Reagan Glenn with 36 total rebounds.

Sorensen currently (as of Monday, Dec. 11) leads in Class 3A for number of 3-point attempts with 63, and is second for number of 3-pointers made with 19 just behind Benton’s McKenna Kramer with 21. Last week she broke the UHS record for career 3-point shots made with 134.

The Knights were scheduled to see action again on Friday, Dec. 15 at Sumner-Fredericksburg, followed by another road game at Jesup on Dec. 18.
