Redhawks hold off Wolverines in Iowa Star South contest

TRAER – Josh Dostal scored a team-leading 23 points and the North Tama boys’ basketball team remained unbeaten with a 75-74 win over GMG in the Tuesday, Dec. 5 Iowa Star Conference contest.

Kayler Morris made five 3-pointers and finished with 17 points, and Jared Dvorak added 16 points and seven assists for the Redhawks (3-0).

Rider Kupka paced GMG with 23 points, 13 rebounds and five assists. Colin Teske added 13 points, while Jabari Woodbury and Anthony Waters finished with 10 points apiece.

On Thursday, Dec. 7 the Redhawks lost to the undefeated Plainsmen 60-34 in Belle Plaine, followed by a narrow conference win 66-62 over Colo-NESCO in a Friday night road game.

North Tama was 4-1 and tied with Baxter for first in the Iowa Star South heading into their Tuesday, Dec. 12 conference game against Collins-Maxwell in Traer.
