Redhawk girls’ basketball players land on all-ISC South teams
TRAER – Two North Tama girls basketball players recently earned Iowa Star Conference South Division all-conference honors.
Junior Ava Breakenridge was a second-team pick for the 2023-24 season, ranking fifth with 19 3-pointers in league games. She averaged a team-leading 13.3 points with 6.3 boards, 2.9 steals, and 2.5 assists during divisional play.
Breakenridge’s teammate, sophomore forward Rylee Ridout received an honorable mention selection. She contributed 138 total points (second for the team), a team-leading 204 rebounds, 20 assists, 28 steals, and 14 blocks (second for the team).
The Redhawks took fifth in the conference (5-7) and finished the season an improved 10-11 overall under second-year head coach Harold Youngblut. During the 2022-23 season, North Tama’s record was 6-15.
Erica Houge, a senior guard from Collins-Maxwell, was named this season’s All-ISC South Player of the Year, while Spartans head coach Aaron Hill received Coach of the Year after winning the division title with an 11-1 record.
