North Tama track competes at BCLUW boys early bird

CONRAD — BCLUW boys track and field scored 92 points to claim fourth at the Comets’ early bird meet at BCLUW High School on Thursday evening.

The Comets scored 92 points. Jesup won with 122 points, followed by Wapsie Valley (117) and Iowa City West (114). GMG was eighth with 27 points, and North Tama and Gladbrook-Reinbeck were ninth with eight points and 10th with seven points, respectively.

BCLUW won two events – Owen Myers was first in the high jump and Cael Keller won the 400. Keller was also second in the long jump, one of seven events where BCLUW took silver on Thursday.

GMG was led by a pair of second-place finishes for Jabari Woodbury in the 200 and 400-meter dash events.

North Tama’s Clayton Williams and Gavin Rausch scored double points for the Redhawks in the long jump, finishing fourth and sixth, respectively.

Austin Vaverka steered Gladbrook-Reinbeck with a third-place time in the 100-meter dash.
