TRAER – Last Friday, North Tama basketball senior standout Jared Dvorak signed his letter of intent to continue both his academic and basketball careers next year with the Buena Vista University Beavers in Storm Lake, Iowa.

With most of his family by his side including his parents Jay and Jennifer Dvorak, the six-foot-three guard made the commitment to BVU in the North Tama gym commons.

In his senior season, Dvorak averaged 12.7 points and 3.6 rebounds for the Redhawks – the second highest of the team in both respects. He led the team in assists with 75, while also notching 25 steals and 2 blocks.

He was just one of two Redhawks selected this season for the 2023-24 Times-Republican All-Area Basketball Teams as a third team pick.

While at BVU, Dvorak plans to pursue a degree in agriculture in hopes of returning home to Tama County after graduation to farm.
