Redhawks sweep through home triangular
TRAER – North Tama volleyball defeated Colo-NESCO and Belle Plaine in a triangular at North Tama High School on Thursday, Sept. 5.
The Redhawks, ranked ninth in Class 1A at the time, swept the Royals, 25-10, 25-7, 25-6 and vanquished Belle Plaine, 25-9, 25-10, 25-11.
Cayleigh Heller had nine kills and 12 assists in the Iowa Star Conference match against Colo-NESCO; Lily Sell added eight kills and Addison Hochstetler had seven assists with five digs. Hadyn Wilson had 15 ace serves on 32-of-33 serving – her only service error ended a massive 17-0 Redhawk run in the third set.
In the non-conference win over Belle Plaine, Kruiz Ewoldt and Sell had seven kills each, Adi Fuller and Heller had seven assists each and Kylie Calderwood led the defense with nine digs. Kahlia Even had six ace serves on 14-of-15 serving.
