VAN HORNE – Knights senior wrestler Jillian ‘Monster’ Worthen, a three time state medalist including back to back titles at 105 pounds her freshman and sophomore years, added yet another accolade to her extensive list of honors during the Benton Lady Cat Duals on Friday, Jan. 10 – her 100th high school career win.

Worthen (center) is pictured with girls head coach Kirk Crawford (left) and assistant coach John Simon (right) at Benton Community High School in Van Horne celebrating her accomplishment. Wrestling at 135 pounds this season, Worthen defeated Mount Vernon’s Lyla Gaza by pinfall in a swift 46 seconds to officially mark the milestone.

“It was an incredible thing to accomplish, don’t get me wrong, but it just felt like another match,” Worthen told the newspaper of reaching 100. “The support of my coaches, team and family was amazing just like always. I love my coaches, team and family so much and I couldn’t be where I am without them.”

Worthen went 3-0 on the evening in Van Horne. In addition to the win over Mount Vernon, she also pinned Lisbon’s Addison Clark and Xavier’s Hannah Pfab.
