TRAER – Anthony Dudys, a sophomore at North Tama High School, has demonstrated incredible talent and dedication to the sport of shooting.

From starting in fourth grade to qualifying this season for the 2025 Rifle and Pistol National Junior Olympics in April, Dudys’ achievements are remarkable. Being the Iowa State Junior Champion for both air and sport pistols multiple years, as well as his success at the National Competition in Ohio, shows his competitive edge and drive. Practicing at the Olympic training center and meeting Olympians presents a huge opportunity.

Dudys is an athlete on both the Traer Air Gun (TAG) team and the Steel Shooters of Traer team which is part of the Iowa Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP). As a member of Steel Shooters of Traer, he has brought home numerous medals, both as an individual and as a member of a team.

TAG is an air gun program coached by Pete Holden. The air pistol program is a fantastic initiative, especially since it focuses on developing key skills such as aiming, focus, and upper body strength. Holden’s coaching is invaluable in guiding these young athletes and helping them achieve their potential.

“Anthony is an amazing shooting athlete, whether it is for TAG or Steel Shooters. Watching his talents grow over the years has been a fun journey. Coach Pete and I couldn’t be prouder of him and this Olympic qualification,” Steel Shooters of Traer Coach Krystal Meggers said.
