Redhawk trio named to all-Iowa Star South first team

TRAER – The North Tama Redhawks baseball team scored three first-team all-Iowa Star Conference South Division picks this season.

Junior Kayler Morris returned to the first team as an outfielder, while seniors Gavin Rausch (infield), and Josh Dostal (utility) both got promoted after consecutive seasons as second-team selections.

Morris hit .352 with eight RBIs, 15 runs scored and 12 stolen bases. He was 2-1 with a 3.00 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 23 1/3 innings as well.

Rausch hit .326 with two doubles, nine RBIs and 13 runs scored while stealing a league-leading 21 bases.

Dostal went 5-2 on the mound with a 2.26 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP (walks and hits per inning pitched).

The Redhawks also had three second-team selections including senior catcher Kolt Knaack, sophomore infielder Kayvin Morris, and junior outfielder Chaz Hall.

Senior Chaz Hall was selected for honorable mention.

North Tama (14-10) tied for second place in the Iowa Star Conference South Division at 10-6.
