Ewoldt marks 1,000th career kill

TRAER – Redhawk senior outside hitter Kruiz Ewoldt was celebrated during the Thursday, Sept. 11 North Tama v. BCLUW volleyball game for reaching an astonishing 1,000 career kills. Ewoldt, pictured with head coach Channing Halstead in the North Tama gym, recorded the milestone the previous Saturday, Sept. 6, at the North Tama Volleyball Tournament where she finished the day with 1,009 kills. This season, the 5-foot-10 Ewoldt is leading her team with 149 kills (as of Monday, Sept. 15) and a .173 kill efficiency. As of press time, she was No. 4 in Class 1A for kills this season just behind Gladbrook-Reinbeck senior Kennedy Brant with 150, Southeast Warren senior Lexi Clendenen with 180, and Mount Ayr senior Aubree Shields with 199. She is also No. 1 in kill attempts in 1A (tied for No. 6 across all classes) with 422.
