Hochstetler named all-Iowa Star South Player of the Year; Halstead named Coach of the Year

TRAER- After qualifying for the state tournament for the sixth time in program history and making it all the way to the semifinal round, North Tama volleyball earned both Player of the Year and Coach of the Year from the all-Iowa Star Conference South Division.

North Tama senior libero Addison Hochstetler was named first-team all-conference for the fourth year in a row and was recognized as the South Division’s Player of the Year. Hochstetler led her team with 486 digs this season. She also racked up 110 assists. At the serve line, Hochstetler led the league with 56 aces and was third in digs (68).

Redhawks head coach Channing Halstead was voted the Coach of the Year after leading her team to the division title by one game in front of BCLUW.

Senior outside hitter Kruiz Ewoldt and freshman middle hitter Alaney Sienknecht also earned first-team honors for the Redhawks. Ewoldt, a three-time first-teamer, was second in the division with 3.2 kills per set, while Sienknecht was sixth (2.0).

North Tama had three second-team selections as well: Senior utility Cayleigh Heller, sophomore outside hitter Lily Sell, and sophomore setter Isabelle Gropper.
