BROOKLYN – For the second year in a row, Redhawk wrestler Addison “Addy” Hochstetler has rolled the competition in her first foray on the mats at the season-opening BGM Girls Tournament.
Hochstetler, a senior, won 4-0 the 155-pound bracket at BGM on Saturday, Nov. 22. In the opening round, she defeated 3-0 Southeast Polk’s Raegyn Davis by pinfall in 44 seconds and then followed suit in the second and third rounds, pinning North Mahaska’s Amara Edwards-Hinton in 1:03 and North Mahaska’s Serenity Van Wyk in 1:20, respectively.
In the final, Hochstetler defeated North Mahaska’s Kieren Perez by major decision 13-4, racking up three successful takedowns and a nearfall over Perez as part of her championship win.
