Redhawk wrestlers earn bronze at North Mahaska Girls Invitational

NEW SHARON – The Redhawk girls wrestling team earned bronze at the North Mahaska Girls Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026 – crowning two individual champions and three runners-up in the process.

North Tama secured their third-place team finish with 116 1/2 points by beating eight other teams and finishing just behind the hosts in second with 121 1/2 points and Ames in first with 206 points.

Redhawk Grace Dvorak (105 pounds) and Addison “Addy” Hochstetler (145 pounds) won their weight classes, each notching three wins on the day. Dvorak secured her championship with pins over Fairfield, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, and Ames, while Hochstetler won by pinfall in the quarterfinals and semifinals – including a smoking 30-second pin of Little Cyclone Danielliz Rosa – before defeating Washington’s Ryha Wellington by 6-4 ultimate tiebreaker in the championship round.

Finishing runner-up for the Redhawks were Lucy Monat (100 pounds), Jocelyn Harms (135 pounds), and Alaney Sienknecht (155 pounds).

Arabelle Zook at 105 pounds placed fourth for North Tama, while teammate Callegh Staker secured fifth place at 125 pounds.

The Redhawk boys also competed Saturday at North Mahaska, facing a dozen other teams, including the ranked hosts. Max Monat (126 pounds) and Drayke Dvorak (138 pounds) both earned individual bronze finishes for North Tama, while Berkley Dvorak (150 pounds) placed fifth.
