TRAER – The North Tama Redhawks football team smashed up Collins-Maxwell last Friday night at home, earning a 50-6 Homecoming victory in 8-Man District 6 action.
The Spartans scored their only points in the second quarter with a 40-yard passing touchdown to sophomore Reagan Peters. The Redhawks notched one score in the first quarter followed by another 20 points in the second. After the break, North Tama scored another 16 and six points, respectively, in the final two quarters.
Against Collins-Maxwell, Redhawk senior signal caller Kayvin Morris led his team to their fourth district win, going 11-of-15 passing for 168 yards and two touchdowns, including a 61-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Maddox Rausch. Junior Griffin Hall threw a 60-yard touchdown pass to junior Berkley Dvorak. Backup quarterback, freshman Emmet Knaack also saw action against the Spartans.
Rausch led the Redhawk rush with nine carries for 105 yards and two touchdowns. Morris keepered the ball 10 times for another 89 yards and two scores.
Two-point conversions were recorded by Hall, Morris, Rausch, and Oliver Vazquez who each had one apiece.

Rausch also led the North Tama defense with 12.5 tackles out of a team 59. Berkley Dvorak racked up eight tackles, Hall 7.5, Paul Dvorak five plus half a sack alongside Homecoming King Brayton Cibula, and Anthony Dudys had four tackles plus a sack. Collins-Maxwell didn’t match even half the Redhawks’ tackle count with not only 25.
North Tama intercepted three Spartan passes with Hall taking one and Braydon Stickles good for two for a combined 46 return yards.
In addition to crowning Queen Isa Allen at halftime, North Tama celebrated Senior Night, honoring seven players on this year’s roster.
The Redhawks enter the final week of regular play with a 5-2 record and third in the district (4-1) — locking in a playoff spot — just behind Clarksville (5-2, 4-1) and undefeated Gladbrook-Reinbeck (7-0, 4-0). Tonight, Friday, Oct. 16, North Tama will travel to Gladbrook to face the Rebels. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at “The Pit.”
