March 2, 1933

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Leo, residents of Dysart and vicinity for many years, had the pleasure of celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, February 26.

Mr. and Mrs. Lou Berger of Garrison have a new daughter born to them February 22.

March 4, 1943

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Parizek of near Elberon are the parents of a baby girl born to them Tuesday evening. She has been named Mary Jane.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert R. Wilson entertained at a dinner party Thursday evening honoring his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Wilson, on their 35th wedding anniversary.

Feb. 28, 1963

Mr. and Mrs. August R. Fennern observed their 66th wedding anniversary on Sunday, February 24. Their anniversary date is February 26.

Mary Stoakes of Geneseo won the free throw shooting championship at the district tournament held at Vinton. She made 22 of 25 tosses.

March 1, 1973

Franklin Earley of Traer has purchased the north portion of the block where the old Dysart high school building was torn down a few years ago. He plans to build three condominium units on the land.

The D-G girls ended the basketball season with a fine record of 20 wins and five defeats. They placed second in the Mid-Iowa Conference race.

March 3, 1983

Karen Kullmer and Steven Pippert exchanged marriage vows at the Dysart United Methodist Church on February 12, 1983.

Two Tama County senior high school girls will vie for beef queen title at the Tama County Cattlemen’s and Cow-Belle’s banquet March 5, They are Susan Santman of Dysart and Sandra Jensen of Clutier.

March 4, 1993

Announcement is being made of the approaching marriage of Nicole Harp and Richard Hofstadter.
