Philip Mitchell will observe his 90th birthday on Wednesday, July 3. He was born July 3, 1923, to Claude and Sara (Burr) Mitchell in Buckingham, Iowa, the youngest of six boys and two girls. His family includes many nieces and nephews and their children. He has spent his entire life on the family farm, taking over when his father retired. He has slowed down some in the last few years and Wade Mitchell, a nephew, and Clay Mitchell, a grandnephew, do most of the work.
