The Union High School select show choir, Union Station, has held auditions and the members have been selected. In its 14th year under the leadership of Tim J. Mitchell, this auditioned ensemble is comprised of 9th-12th graders, which rehearse twice a week for 45 minutes before school as part of the fine arts curriculum at Union High School in La Porte City. A consistent award winner at numerous competitions, Union Station will be competing this year at State Contest on Feb. 3 @ Union, Benton’s Touch of Class Invitational on Feb. 15th @ Van Horne, The Marion Invitational on March 1st @ Marion High School. and the Cedar Rapids Jefferson Invitational on March 15th @ Cedar Rapids. The group will end the year by performing at their home concert on Tuesday, May 13th.

The competition set for 2014 includes “I Don’t Want To Be”, “It’s Time”, “Here’s Where I Stand”, “Son of A Preacher Man/Fever”, and “Underground”.
