Wayne Jackson was born November 29, 1927 in rural Reinbeck. He married Betty J. Young of Traer on August 15, 1949 and has lived in Ames for the last 57 years where the couple raised five children.

Wayne worked for IBM for over 30 years. The Jacksons have 14 great-grandchildren across Iowa, Illinois, Colorado and Texas.
