Evelyn Treadway Harrison was born Nov. 21, 1911 to Arch and Elsie May Treadway. She grew up in Gladbrook. She married Ellsworth Harrison on April 25, 1929 and moved to Traer and has made her home in Traer since then. She worked for 31 years at Hinson Mfg. in Waterloo and retired in 1974.

Her family includes her daughter, Barbara Sieh of Clearwater, Fla., her son, Monte Joe Harrison of Bakersfield, Calif., daughter Shirley Knudson (deceased), a sister Leabelle Hill of Houston, Texas and brother, Jack Norman of Traer. She has 13 grandchildren and many great and great-great-grandchildren.
