LEARNING EXPRESS:

Through the State Library we have been able to add a new Data base to our web page, you can access it by visiting our webpage www.traer.lib.ia.us and clicking on Learning Express on the left side of the screen – you will be asked to set up your own account – this allows you to return to any of the modules you are working on. You will then have free, unlimited access to interactive skill building courses in math, reading and writing, as well as a broad range of practice tests based on official exams such as the ACT, SAT, GED, ASVAB Core, and EMT Basic, as well as firefighter, police officer, paramedic, Allied Healthcare, U.S. citizenship, postal worker, cosmetology, and real estate agent and broker exams along with graduate college tests GRE, MCAT, LSAT, PCAT and others. The service is available 24/7 from any Internet-enabled computer-in your library and even from your home.

The LearningExpress Library online learning platform provides over 770 of the most up-to-date test preparation and skill-building resources, helping both students and adults prepare for a wide range of academic and career oriented exams as well as improve basic skills in reading, writing and math. In addition, job-skills tutorials are available to assist in creating a resume, honing interviewing techniques, and improving business communications. Library patrons also have the option of selecting from more than 130 e-book titles to help learners of all ages prepare for success. The platform includes self-paced study, instant scoring and diagnostic feedback.

Tuesday, February 12 Traer United Methodist Church Pancake Supper from 5:00-7:00pm at the Memorial Building. Pancakes, sausage, fruit, bars, beverage. Cost Adults $7.00, Children 6-10 $3.00; 5 & under free. Carry out and diabetic meals available.

Thursday, February 14 – Send a Singing Love-a-Gram or have a Giant Brownie or Sugar Cookie delivered to a special someone. Pick up a flyer at the library to order or call 478-2847. Orders need to be placed by February 10 – Proceeds go to the Traer United Methodist Church.

Saturday, February 16 Max Morrison Benefit at the Traer Memorial Building. Doors open at 9:00am. Bake Sale begins at 10:30am. Lunch will be served from 11am-3pm. Silent Auction 10:30am-5:00pm. Live Auction begins at 4:00pm
