News & notes from the Traer Library
KNITTING ON
SATURDAY
We will meet this Saturday, May 11 at 10:00am at the library. We meet the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month. Bring your crocheting / knitting projects, problems, questions and enjoy an hour with our knitting master Mary Ann Reed. If you have any questions about this, email me or call the library.
NEED YOUR HELP
We need a couple items for our summer reading crafts – buttons and rocks. Any loose buttons would be appreciated. The rocks need to be flat about the size of a fist – the children will be painting them as part of a pet rock project. If you have either to donate, please drop them off at the library.
STATE FAIR &
4-H PROJECTS
We will be hosting Mary Kay Shanley on Thursday, June 13 at 7:00pm in the Kupka Cultural Center. She will be speaking on the Iowa State Fair. In preparation we would like to showcase past 4-H projects throughout the library. If you have a project that you took to the county or state fair and would be willing to loan it to the library for a month, please label it clearly and bring it in to the library anytime after May 1. If you have ribbons from recipes and are willing to share the recipe, please bring them in and we will feature them in a newsletter. If you have trophies and pictures we would love to display them. Call the library or email me with any questions.
BOOK SALE ROOM
Our used book sale room is open all the hours the library is open. It is located on the lower level of the library and you are invited to visit it as often as you would like. The books are ones that have been donated or have been withdrawn from our collection. The cost is a free will donation. The money bucket is kept upstairs at the circulation desk. The proceeds from the book sales are collected by the Friends of the Library and are used for the library.
