Joan and Duane Drahos will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary and family reunion on June 9 at Taylor Park in in Traer. There will be a potluck meal with meat, drinks and table setting provided beginning at noon. Family and friends are invited to join the celebration.

Joan Pierce was born in Hopkinton, Iowa, and Duane Drahos was born in Traer. They met on a blind date and on June 3, 1953, in La Porte City, they became husband and wife.

Joan and Duane lived on several farms before finding the right one in 1966 outside Shell Rock, Iowa. They are blessed with five dauthers, 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
