In addition to the concert on Thursday evening, they will perform at two community outreach events. The outreach events are made possible by our two corporate sponsors for this year’s series, The State Bank of Toledo and Premier Estates of Toledo.

Trio 826 was created in 2011 by three friends to explore ideas for innovation in the performance of classical music, new and old. The members of the trio have vast experience as orchestral and chamber musicians, soloists, and educators. Their mission with this ensemble is to reach new audiences and explore ways to bring classical music to life, through performing new and standard repertoire works in a variety of venues, from formal concerts to performances in intimate, informal, and unusual settings. The trio performs for chamber music concert series performances and residencies, school concerts, community outreach, and other events. Their program is a mix of traditional, standard classical literature and new works, including pieces written especially for the ensemble. One such work, “Soneando” by jazz composer Robert Washut, is a Latin-influenced trio which masterfully blends jazz and classical techniques. Trio 826 has performed extensively throughout the US and internationally as well.

The group is made up of members JULIA BULLARD, professor of viola and Associate Director of the School of Music at the University of Northern Iowa, HANNAH HOLMAN, cellist, New York City Ballet Orchestra and Quad Cities Orchestra and SUSANNA KLEIN, assistant professor of violin and coordinator of strings at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Trio 826 are consummate performers. The community has the RARE opportunity to experience this exceptional level of musical expertise. No matter what your personal preference of music may be, rock’n roll, country, reggae, or something else, this is a perfect opportunity to expand one’s musical horizons. One does not have to be a classical music aficionado to recognize that these three have talent. Part of the Wieting Theatre’s Mission is to bring live quality performances to the community. Trio 826 is a performance that should not be missed.
