The Tama County Soil and Water Conservation District office recently announced its 2022 Stewardship Week Poster Contest winners. This year’s theme was “Healthy Soil, Healthy Life.”

The countywide winner was Union fourth grader Cooper Youngblut. Youngblut attends Dysart-Geneseo Elementary in Dysart. His artwork included trees, crops, other plants, a cow, and soil critters like worms. Youngblut was awarded $20 and will be treated to an airplane ride over northeastern Tama County later this summer.

Our South Tama fourth grade winner was Adan Carrillo. His artwork depicted planet Earth with hands holding soil and growing plants. Carrillo was presented with a certificate and a $10 prize.
