Knaack selected as new North Tama A.D.

North Tama alum, current head wrestling coach to replace Taylor Wurth

North Tama Community School District is pleased to announce that Andrew Knaack has been selected as North Tama’s next Activities Director.

Mr. Knaack is currently a Physical Education teacher at Janesville Community School District. Mr. Knaack also is North Tama’s Head Wrestling Coach. Under Mr. Knaack’s guidance the North Tama wrestling program has grown in both the number of student-athletes participating, community support, and success. Mr. Knaack also is a member of the North Tama football coaching staff. Mr. Knaack also has coached at the collegiate level as part of the Cornell Wrestling team in Mt. Vernon, Iowa.

Mr. Knaack graduated from North Tama in 2001. He then graduated from Wartburg College with a major in Fitness Management and will graduate from Morningside University Teacher Intern Masters Program with a Masters in Secondary Education/P.E. He currently lives in the North Tama school district with his wife Nicole and children, Kolt, Emmet, & Julie.

Mr. Knaack’s many years of coaching in the state of Iowa have led to many connections statewide. Mr. Knaack has been described as someone who is willing to learn and implement new things, as well as having an extreme passion and commitment to the students and community of North Tama. In addition to his Activities Director position, Mr. Knaack will teach a few sections of Physical Education each day as well.

Pending board approval, Mr. Knaack will begin his Activities Director duties on or around July 1, and begin to work full days in August.
