Ryan and Jamie Madison will share how their dreams started to become reality in 2020 as they purchased their place and carved out a space for a market garden, bringing fresh produce to their community. They have expanded to on-farm sales, farmers markets, beekeeping, a self-serve farm stand and a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). Besides fresh produce, the Madisons offer fresh eggs, pasture-raised poultry and more. Check out their website and Facebook page online!
Tama County WLL began in 2007, part of a statewide USDA outreach project. Almost 500 individuals from in and around Tama County have attended at least one of the group’s events. Statewide, WLL is currently active in 45 Iowa counties and brings together Iowans interested in agriculture, local food and natural resources to converse, listen and become empowered for involvement on their landscape and in their communities.
