‘Words on Wellness LIVE!’ coming to Gladbrook
GLADBROOK – Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Tama County is pleased to bring Words on Wellness LIVE!, an in-person program designed to bring people together for lively conversation, practical health tips, and a shared taste of something delicious to the Gladbrook community starting on April 21.
For years, Extension specialists have contributed to Words on Wellness, a monthly newsletter focused on simple, trustworthy information about nutrition, food safety, and everyday wellbeing. Words on Wellness LIVE! takes that same helpful content and turns it into a warm, interactive gathering.
Each monthly session invites participants to explore the newsletter topic in a friendly, social setting. Instead of reading at home, attendees can talk through ideas with others, ask questions, and share their own experiences. The atmosphere is relaxed and upbeat – more like a gettogether with friends than a traditional class.
A highlight of every meeting is the chance to sample the featured recipe of the month, giving participants a fun, handson way to experience the newsletter’s message. Tasting the recipe together often sparks even more conversation – favorite flavors, cooking tips, and stories from the kitchen.
“Words on Wellness LIVE! is about connection,” said program organizers. “It’s a chance to learn something useful, enjoy good company, and walk away feeling energized.”
The program is open to all community members who enjoy staying active, curious, and socially engaged.
