North Tama holds Swing Show

This past week the annual North Tama Swing Show was held Thursday and Friday at 7pm in the North Tama Gymnasium. The theme for this year was “Dance the Night Away.”
The Chorus opened up the night with the song “Shake Your Groove Thing.” After the Presidents of Band and Chorus greeted the audience and the show was on its way. There were two soloist, Nicole Dunkel-Jensen, a sophomore, and Jon Koob, a junior. Also, Carston Calderwood and Morgan Halupnick sang a duet name “Need You Now.” Sierra Kubik did a tap number to a song, while Carston Calderwood, Jordan Mask, and Sean Dengler danced to a hip-hop number named, “Single Ladies.” The audience got a good laugh from Jon Koob during the concert bands “Eighties Flashback.” Jon set up a conductors stand behind the band director, Kayla Carlson, and directed” the band. The audience got another good laugh at Sean Denglers “Toast” skit/song. Sean played the toaster with silverware while singing a song about toast. The Jazz band played a couple numbers. There were more skits including: Females, Surprise Party, Stretching, Starring Jordan, NT Workers, and Riding in the Car.
The night ended with “Dance Evolution” and the Presidents thanking the audience for coming out.
