The Union Knights rolled to an easy 41-7 victory over the visiting Osage Green Devils on Friday night, capping off homecoming week with a series of great individual performances on the gridiron.

Quarterback Jay Scheel was once again a one-man wrecking crew on offense, accounting for the bulk of the Knights’ yards. Scheel completed 14 of his 22 pass attempts for 209 yards and two touchdowns, but also threw two picks. He rushed for 180 yards and two touchdowns.

Andrew Osuna had his best game so far this season, averaging over 6.5 yards per carry and finishing with 72 yards on the ground. Osuna also rushed for a touchdown.

Trev Hadachek chipped in 51 yards and a score on the ground, and was also the team’s second-leading receiver with 57 yards. Brady Petersen led the team with 81 yards receiving and a touchdown.

The defense was also stout, limiting the state’s second-best aerial attack to just over 140 yards through the air, and only 20 yards rushing. Jace Hadachek and Austin Dengler led the team with six tackles apiece. Josh Clark had two tackles for a loss in the contest.

The Knights have now won three games in a row and are tied atop the district standings with a record of 3-1 (2-0). They head back out on the road for a non-district contest at Cascade on Friday, with gametime set for 7 p.m.
