Public comment ordinance tweaks and hazmat

TOLEDO – Last Monday morning, many gathered in the Tama County Board of Supervisors’ chambers for the weekly meeting. Tama County Engineer Ben Daleske started off with his report saying that Union Pacific will close the V18 Chelsea crossing to do some work, and a detour will be in place.
Iowa Bridge and Culvert should have P Avenue open in a week or two. Old items have been listed for sale on GovDeals, the mowers are done with their first half, and chloride is being prepped for application.
The third and final public hearing to tweak the V.14 public comment ordinance was held with multiple citizens submitting statements against the ordinance. After the hearing, the supervisors passed the changes to the ordinance.
Cody Cervais agreed to pay in full on a tax sale certificate.
The legal council of Lynch Dallas was retained to deal with a lawsuit against the Board of Adjustment.
A 28E agreement with Waterloo was renewed for hazmat services.
The VA quarterly report and the auditor quarterly report were both approved.
Dysart Rec and Double D Rodeo were both approved for a liquor license.
Alternates were approved to the EMS advisory board including Jesse Brown (Toledo Ambulance), Ronda Edwards (Clutier First Responders), Luther Heller (Montour First Responders), Alea Dvorak (Traer Ambulance), and Randie Brodigan (Dysart Ambulance).
Claims totaling $129,918.82 were approved.
