CLUTIER – Hora-Machacek Legion Auxiliary held a sewing day on Tuesday, Oct. 1. The following Auxiliary members were in attendance: Linda D, Collette W, Diane C, Pauline S, and Veronica P. They sewed lap quilts together and cut grocery bags into strips for sleep mats. Enjoyed a delicious potluck lunch and fellowship.

Mary S. joined us for the afternoon monthly meeting. President Veronica brought the meeting to order, called the roll, and read the September minutes which were approved as read. Treasurer Diane reviewed our finances. Veronica presented a bill for mailing bake sale letters. Pauline S. made a motion to pay Veronica, seconded by Mary S. Motion carried.

Our bake sale is October 20 from 8 a.m. to noon. Reviewed our pricing list for baked goods brought in. This is the same day as Legion’s pancake breakfast. Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 1:30 p.m. is the Tama County Joint meeting at Gladbrook. There will be a memorial service for the past year’s deceased Legion and Auxiliary members.

Happy Birthday was sung to Collette W. Please note that our sewing day in November will be on Wednesday, Nov. 6, beginning at 9 a.m., potluck lunch at noon, and monthly meeting in the afternoon. Sure would like to see more come and join us. You do not need to be an Auxiliary member nor need to sew. Meeting adjourned.
