TRAER – The Traer Kubik-Finch Post 142 American Legion Auxiliary recently honored members they have lost in the past year with a Memorial Dinner and Service (bottom right photo). Special guests during the dinner included Carol Detje’s daughters Laura Taylor, Lisa Even, and Diana Hora (bottom left). The unit has also done a memorial window (center left) in honor of area veterans and unit auxiliary members they have lost. The display can be seen at the Traer Historical Museum, and is under the lights in the evening hours. On Wednesday, May 14, members Marguerite Hulme and Liz Bauch (top right) gave a presentation to North Tama Elementary fourth graders on the history of Memorial Day poppies, while also providing students with a coloring book, flag pencils, and poppies to wear (top left).
