DYSART – Following the shuttering of the town’s only medical clinic earlier this year as part of a rash of MercyOne closures and consolidations across Iowa in recent years, healthcare services have officially returned to Dysart.

On Thursday, July 17, the Dysart Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house for its newest business, Aspire Health and Wellness which officially opened July 1 in the former Chelle’s Bar & Grill at 309 Jefferson Street. The family medical practice is owned and operated by Joe and Jamie Barnett of Cedar Falls with Jamie, an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), serving as the clinic’s primary provider after previously working for UnityPoint in Waterloo.

“I have been a nurse practitioner for over eight years. I saw the need in [Dysart] for healthcare and have a lot of patients already in this area [including] Dysart [and] LaPorte City,” Jamie said in an email to the newspaper explaining her decision to open in Dysart.

The new clinic offers preventative and chronic care, acute care (sick visits) including walk-ins, lab testing, immunizations, school and sports physicals, and more.

“We also treat mental health problems, including depression, anxiety, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), eating disorders, and other mental health challenges to meet the health needs of the whole person,” the clinic’s website states.

All major insurance plans are accepted, Jamie said.

Aspire Health and Wellness is open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Fridays by appointment only. Call 319-476-9355 to schedule an appointment including telehealth consultations, or visit aspirehealthia.com to book online.
